3D Texts & /3ddo

You can create floating 3D text in the world through the M / F1 Menu.

Go to:

M / F1 Menu > Roleplay Options > 3D Text Creator

From here, you can:

  • Create new 3D text
  • View nearby 3D texts
  • Edit existing 3D text
  • Delete existing 3D text
  • Use /3ddo for quick RP text

Creating 3D Text

Select:

3D Text Creator > Create 3D Text

You will then enter placement mode.

A marker will follow your camera/crosshair.

Aim at the location where you want the text to appear, then select:

Confirm Location

Once the location is confirmed, you can customise the text.

Customising the 3D Text

You can change:

  • Text Content — what the text actually says
  • Font Style — choose the font used
  • Text Size — make the text larger or smaller
  • Text Color — change the colour
  • View Distance — control how far away players can see it

Once you are happy with everything, select:

Confirm Changes

The 3D text will then appear at the location you selected.

Editing Existing 3D Text

Go to:

M / F1 Menu > Roleplay Options > 3D Text Creator > Nearby 3D Texts

This shows 3D texts within approximately 25 metres of your location.

Each entry shows:

  • The text content
  • Its unique ID
  • How far away it is

Select the 3D text you want to edit.

You can then change the:

  • Text
  • Font
  • Size
  • Colour
  • View distance

When finished, select:

Confirm Changes

Removing 3D Text

To remove existing text:

3D Text Creator > Nearby 3D Texts > Select the text

Then select:

Delete 3D Text

This permanently removes that 3D text from the world.

Make sure you have selected the correct one before deleting it.

What Can 3D Text Be Used For?

3D text is useful for adding information or RP context to a location.

For example:

  • Closed
  • Door appears damaged
  • Blood can be seen on the floor
  • Security camera above the entrance
  • Window has been smashed
  • Notice pinned to the wall

Try to use 3D text to describe something that players would reasonably be able to see or observe in the scene.

Using /3ddo

/3ddo is another way of displaying descriptive RP information within the world.

It can be used to describe details that may not be physically represented by GTA itself.

For example:

/3ddo There would be broken glass scattered across the floor.

or:

/3ddo A strong smell of fuel would be coming from the vehicle.

This allows other players to understand details about the scene that cannot easily be shown visually.
